Small fixes
Found a couple of small things that needed fixed and I setup my SVN to ease future updates of this addon. See the change log for details.
Thanks |

I really like your mod. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't show number marks on people's raid frames. Thanks for the good work!

Debuff monitoring 0.9.7c
I believe the debuff whitelist is working as expected now. Just a little more testing and I'll put out another update.

Hi ^^
Excuse me if there's a way to do it and I didn't notice it, but is there an option to make the groups fill from right to left, instead than from left to right like it is now? And are you planning to add more buff slots? ^^ thanks for your time! |

Hello,
Thanks for the feedback. Currently it supports filling the groups from top to bottom, bottom to top, and left to right. Never really thought about making it go right to left. It would be some extra work but is possible. There are currently 3 buff slots. Topright corner, bottomleft corner, bottomright corner. I could see adding a 4th possibly but that would be the most I'd consider. Thanks, Solsis Quote:

Debuff update... soon 0.9.8
DeBuff Whitelist has been tested and is functional. Working on the blacklist and will post an update when ready. Will bump it up to 0.9.8.
Really starting to look for feedback from users more than ever. Let me know what you think. Good... bad... suggestions? Things you like, don't like, things you'd like to see, etc. Thanks, Solsis |

Well I guess I'll start ^^
Things I like: I actually *love* the look --- it feels smooth and to the point, and I love that we have different textures to choose from Having the option to change the size of the role icon is a nice touch (also, having the option to change the class colours and make them more muted/more saturated!) Things I didn't like: that there's no buff duration, so I don't know how much time I still have before having to refresh hots or for how much the load on that stone carrier is gonna be lighter because of healer's covenant. Second thing I didn't like, but it could just be that I didn't discover how to do it, is that I couldn't manage to set up a string of abilities in my clicks. Like having tidal surge, touch the light and healing invocation all on the same click, so I can just click it thrice and fire off all the spells. It's not that much of a big deal, I can set up single spells in click box healer and setup mouseover macros in my action bars, but having the option to put in strings of spells would still be nice Very similar problem... is there a way to have two buffs show up in the same spot? Like having a hot monitored in spot #1, but have Healer's Covenant show in that same spot if present? If that is not possible and implementing an additional buff spot unbalances the addon too much, using one of vuhdo's tricks could add to the configuration options: in vuhdo borders could be used to give more choices too... like red border for aggro, yellow border for a buff (dunno, healer's covenant, purifier shields, healing flood...) Something I'd really, really like to see: As I already wrote, the option to have the groups grow from right to left It's especially nice to have in wfs where groups are constantly growing... I find nicer to have them grow outwards so to have everything most near the center of attention in the screen no matter how many (or few) people join (you already answered on this though, so thanks for your time in reading, writing back and possibly taking it into consideration ^^) I'm waiting for the debuff feature to be released to write more, since I don't know how you handled it ^^ All that said, I think Click Box Healer is coming around quite nicely... I tried it when it was still in the early stages and left it for a while, and I have to say you're doing a really good job on it I hope I didn't annoy you with this loooong post, and thanks for the hard work you're doing ^^ |

Snags,
Your looooonnnng post does absolutely NOT bother me. I needed that. I'm glad you made a circle back around to my addon and are trying it again. So I'll start at the top of your input and go down. On the appearance aspect. I'm a customizer. I hate things looking the same for any long period of time. So I tried to add a decent variety of textures and even incorporated a few favorites from WoW. I love having choices. Buff durations. Another great idea and I'll add that to the list. There is a way to write a string of abilities in one mouse click. There is a custom option in the list. Just click it and a box comes up to enter your spells in. However. Just like any other macro though, due to the limitations of Rift (not me), the example you gave of having Touch of Light and Invocation on one macro is you'd have to click twice. Macros are only allowed to cast a single spell per click. That is the reason we have to use #suppressmacrofailures in the macros. So you can just spam them. The buffs showing up in the same spot was actually something I took out when I split them into three. They used to all show up in one spot. JUST the topright corner. When I added the other 2 I split them all up. I could see adding a fourth as I mentioned , maybe in the middle right of the frame or middle left. Not sure. I'm also going to answer the right to left thing again. As I mentioned, it does currently do left to right filling of the groups. Does this not accomplish what you are looking for? I'm afraid i'm not understanding this one. The debuff system will be in probably Sunday night. Finishing it up and then will test it in my raid on Sunday and see how it goes. I'm pretty confident it will work as designed with the little testing I've done. I need to get a couple of people that play the game a lot to test it when it is ready before I post the updates. Right now I just test it on myself using two accounts. I set up a trial account with myself just so I'd have a character to party with or duel etc whenever group functions are being tested. Sorry for the loooonnnggg reply, but hopefully all your questions are answered. Thanks again for the feedback and would love to have more if you have any as it goes on. ~Solsis Quote:

Oh awesome! thanks for the explanation on how to set a macro
I'm on the pts waiting to test the new conquest thing and I don't have all my addons setup on there, but here is a lousy&quick photoshop to show how the right to left thing interests me so much http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/7/91153675.jpg/ having the groups grow that way makes everything near the centre of the screen... I apologize for my lack of explaining skills, English is not my first language so sometimes it's hard to get the points across ^^ I'd write more but test is starting in 2 minutes! *excited* (on testing debuffs especially) |

Nice drawing
Ya that makes 10 tons more sense now. That is doable. Will take some time reversing everything but totally possible. Let me finish the debuff thing and i'll work on that. Lots of good feedback. Thanks. My addon working good on the PTS? Quote:

Sadly, I'm getting the dreaded performance error that's killing all of the addons on pts
Basically, as soon as you get the addon going (like I entered Conquest, so I got almost a full raid) you get a message saying the addon will lower your performance a lot, and that it's best either to disable it or update it. This is what I get if I load the details of the error: Error: Unknown: attempt to index a nil value In ClickBoxHealer / DefaultErrorHook stack traceback: [C]: in function 'dispatchHandle' [C]: in function 'errorEventSpawner' [C]: in function 'dispatchHandle' I think it's tied to http://forums.riftgame.com/beta-addo...ml#post3730823 :\ |

Thanks again Snags. I've been so busy I haven't had a chance really to get on the PTS. But looking at the stuff for 1.9 I believe I am going to need to. I have been working hard to reduce the CPU of this addon as much as I possibly can. And honestly, when I started rewriting it, it was consuming 20% in a full raid. That's insane. In my recent testing, it is usually around 5% in a full raid. Sometimes it spikes a little up to like 7%ish or so. I'm doing what I can with what I know. I will take a look at this though hopefully this weekend.
Thanks, ~Solsis Quote:

I'll keep adding mini feedback posts as I keep trying the addon during pvp/events ^^
It's a bit difficult to see who is in range and who isn't right now, since the difference in alpha between in and out of range is not that big... it'd be really nice to have a slider to adjust the out of range alpha too ^^ Also, the more I use it, the more I like its look ^^ Tons of kudos on it! (love also the option to change saturation/colour of names ^^) |
