Hey there,

First, thanks for using the addon, and for the feedback. I was wondering if you could explain a bit more which issues you're fixing with these changes? It would help me better understand the changes you've made in the code. Some are obviously self-explanatory (larger absorb bar, for instance), but I'm not quite sure what you mean by "option to auto-toggle in-combat," or what was wrong with the current Burnout tracking.

Thanks!

Hi,

nice addon, thanks!

However I found a few bugs / missing features in 1.5... and since I wanted to use it, I made some fixes

You can find file (with fixes) here: http://www.filedropper.com/showdownl...clickboxhealer -- feel free to integrate whatever you want into 'main branch'. Just do a diff, there's not a lot of stuff changed. Note: lots of 'fixes' are on the 'complete hack' level.

List of stuff fixed / added:
- burnout tracking fix (so it actually 'toggles' when burnout fades)
- burnout visibility when shield is depleted (via fading out player name, probably needs something better, but it was something I could do quickly)

Focus?

Is it possible to add a frame to support the focus target?

(I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to find any effective way to search the forum.)

Thanks for such a great addon!

Hmm, okay - so in 1.5, I moved the call to create the ability list to when you load the options page, in order to limit these performance issues. But apparently it's still a problem in this new location.

Could you post (or PM me) your computer specs? I'm curious as to what sort of computers are experiencing these issues.

Thanks! Sorry for the issue!

1.5 is live! As noted, it brings some very important features:
  • Absorption tracking on the frames (on the bottom, or just above the mana bar, depending on the frame). This includes Burnout tracking, as the color reflects if Burnout is present.
  • Buff monitoring completely rewritten to be more efficient. You shouldn't see any changes, besides lower CPU usage.
  • The new graphical raid markers are correctly displayed.

If you have any bugs or errors, PLEASE let me know so I can work on fixing them as quickly as possible!

Thanks everyone!

On another positive note, I'm loving the changes you've made with the beta version. I've noticed a few things right from the start; Whatever you've done, it solved the Defiler pet issue. It no longer fades to no line of sight status when I'm standing right next to it. It's more responsive to the mouse gestures, and the pet status stays up to date in the pet pane, e.g., shields and health percentage.

This is only from 30 minutes of testing.
Right now, the solid blocks are how we display buff info, yes. You can set each square to a certain color, or you can use a "warning system" for all the blocks (for instance, I use a base green color, then yellow at 5 seconds and red at 3 seconds). Part of the beta change allows me to track the actual buff icons, so I'm planning to implement support for showing buff icons, rather than colored squares, sometime down the road.

I'm glad that the beta is working well for you! Not sure what I could have done that solved your Defiler beacon issues, but hopefully it stays fixed. Please keep me updated with any issues you run into with the beta.

Thanks again!

Buff/debuff tracking

I tested the ui with another pet build and it seems to work fine, so I will keep you posted if that changes... Sorry if I wasn't clear when I mentioned buff/debuff tracking, I was in a bit of a rush.

I will use the defiler ability "Foul Growth" as an example. Foul Growth works a few ways, it will either proc after I cast a damaging ability, or I can manually cast it. This ability can stack up to 3x, so the Ui will display a solid box (green) with just the number three in it; that is the only way I know it's Foul Growth. The other buffs that I use will just be a solid green box.. I hope this helps

Re: Re: Pet CBH pane

Thanks for the reply... Yes it's the Beacon I'm having an issue with, I haven't tried it with any other pets yet. I will make another build tonight and test it out on other pets..

I also noticed buff and debuff icons didn't display right either, I just forgot to mention that part. I would love to beta test the new changes if you need more people..

Regarding your issues: have you experienced any pet problems with pets besides the new Defiler ones? I've heard of some funky issues with this (that's the new Beacon thing, right?) that might be Trion's issue. I'll try to check it out, though, but if you are only experiencing this issue with the new Defiler pet, it might not be something I can fix.

Thanks again!

Secondly: I'm experiencing a small, but annoying problem. Currently I'm using the new Defiler soul, and I've being pretty much playing solo since I've started back with Rift. I have the "toggle pet pane' option enabled in the CBH settings. Everything works fine for a few minutes, and then all of a sudden the pet pane will switch to group 6, and I can no longer heal it. If I do click to heal the group 6 pane, it will just heal the Defiler and not the pet. I use the resetui function to try an abate the problem and it doesn't work, instead, I have logout to the character selection screen, and it will fix the problem each time.

Thirdly: I moved the slider to darken the panes of people that are too far for me to heal; the person (in this case my pet) will still be dark as if they were not in my LOS or out of range.

Thanks in advance to taking the time to look into this whenever you can... Take care!

It seems like, every time I open up the text editor and start working on something, I stumble across another issue or feature to update :-P

The feature du jour this time was raid marker icons. No one told me that the new visual icons weren't showing up correctly! So I changed up how they were being displayed, and now the icons appear to be all showing correctly. I made them a bit smaller, too, to interfere with the rest of the frame less.

I've had a couple of volunteers for beta testing, and will be sending them the new add-on shortly. If all goes smoothly, the update should be up within a week or so!

Thank again guys!

Just to update everyone (or whoever happens to read this...), I've almost completed the rewrite of the way the add-on handles and tracks buffs and debuffs. This should improve the performance of the add-on, especially in larger raids with many buffs being tracked at once.

In addition, I'm close to being done with implementing shield tracking functionality. It'll be pretty basic at first, but I hope to add in some options for customization down the road.

Both of these changes will need some more testing. If you're up for doing a bit of beta testing, please PM me and I can send you the changes to the add-on. I could especially use some people who can test it out in larger settings.

Thanks again for checking out the add-on!

Good ideas - I'll add them to the list of features I'm working on. In addition, we're trying to make the add-on more memory efficient, as we still hear about some poor performance for some folks in large encounters and such.

Unfortunately, my own involvement over the next few weeks might be rather small, as my father is in the end stages of pancreatic cancer. I'll try to do as much as I can (and, indeed, working on the add-on can be a nice departure for me), but can't really promise a whole lot at this point.

Thank you again for using the add-on!
