LifeBinder (Beta)
Version: 1.0.1.4
by: acheliuspjr, Protonova
@mouseoverui macros don't work, it's an api limitation, change them to @mouseover

If you want to target with this addon you have to select the function from the config->mouse and drag the target command to the desired combination

What is it:
LifeBinder is an addon aimed to replace the default Rift party and raid frames with something that is more configurable. While it is designed for healers, other classes and roles can find LifeBinder useful. The addon makes it easier to monitor incoming damage, damage over time, healing, healing over time, buffs and debuffs. So that you can accurately and efficiently heal no matter how much is going on in raid. While making it easier to react to raid conditions LifeBinder also allows you to easily respond with click-to-cast spellcasting.

Brief history:
While using Rifthbot we weren't satisfied with the result, so we decided to drop almost every file we used for it and to create another addon, always with performance in mind but also with personalization and a better structured code, that started the development of Lifebinder

We had an hard to use interface for buffs and we added a totally new slots and buff configuration that can move them at will and configure everything by dragging the elements with the mouse

We got sick of only 1 debuff slot so we changed how buffs and debuffs are managed and created 4 buff slots and 4 debuff slots, adding the ability to add and remove slots at will(configuration support will be in future versions but the code is there)

We needed duration on buffs and we added it, now duration is shown if the buff/debuff remaining time is under 9 seconds

We needed a better debuff filtering so we added a priority/blocking system: if the buff is on priority list then it will be always shown, if the buff is on the blocked list it will always be ignored, if the buff is not non one of those lists and the user selected the option "show only if curable" then it will be shown only if it's curable by your class. if is not on the lists and showcurableonly is not selected the debuff will always be shown

We needed a better and more user friendly mouse binds configuration window, so we added the new one (that I personally love soo much), for now it doesn't have custom macro support but I promise it will be done

We needed a better style and personalization, so we started to create styles (and more will be done about that)

We hated the lack of out of range detection, so we create the module that will be available when 1.8 hits that does that, and when we will be able to test more, we can add more function regarding range etc

the result is that now we need to sleep ^^

How to configure:
You click on the green circle or you write "/lb config"
It's easy to learn how but if you need there is a video:
It will have some annotations, but for now it's unedited
http://bit.ly/HNKvDT
Info on unit positioning:
Selecting 1 you will have the "standard" unit positioning that was the original "standard" style while choosing the number 4 you will have the "oldstyle"
On the option window the arrows indicate the grow direction
For example the number 2 will be:
First unit on the bottom left ,the first group will be the first column than the second group will be the second column, group members will be placed from bottom to top
(Unit positioning configuration is not final, How you can set it can be changed in the future)

Known issues:
-Reloading the interface or loading it during combat won't work, those are the limitations of the API
-If someone disconnects and reconnects in a 5 man group while in combat it will have some problems, (why trion you rearrange groups to have the disconnected player last? WHY???? )

In development:
HP visualization options (percent,hp deficit,current/max)
Mouse binds and buffs settings copy
Role icon change option
Custom macro support on mouse binds tab

v1.0.1.4

Just pushed out a quick update to the event triggering issues (thanks to Mere for the revolution). Frames will accurately update and not get "stuck" in an earlier state. Also you will notice that the Role icons appear the same as in game. No more confusion. I am really sorry for any inconvenience the previous icons may have caused.

As for my previous message, it still stands... My partner has quit the game because of guild issues and now I *assume* I'm just alone to develop the addon.

On a lighter note, here are the features to look forward to on the next release:
  • New Bindings: Scroll wheel up and down options.
  • Menu support (right click drop down menu).
  • Profiles and Layouts (LB will essentially remember how each spec looks like and placement).
  • Better default looks (default settings).
  • Manual Input text fields for mover buttons.
  • A fix for the Out of range dection module new in 1.8.
  • Preconfigured white/black listed debuffs.
  • New config videos with sexy voice acting :3.

We are postponing development on the addon to sort some inside issues. I'm sorry, but I really was hoping it wouldn't come down to this... I will update this post as soon as the issues are resolved. We should have a clear decision by the end of this up coming week (4/23 - 4/29).

Just to know, will the fixed version have the features you had ready, but haven't released yet? ^^

Yes, Profiles and layouts are the biggest additions. Among others... new icons for the roles and many other bug fixes that are not as apperent. One more thing, we are trying to pack the 1.8 fixes and the new additions into one release. We hate to make our users to constantly update the addon.

Patch 1.8

We are currently aware that there are some bugs with patch 1.8.

The most noticeable bug has to do with the LoS and OoR module. It doesn't always tell you if someone is OoR (Out of Range) until you actually try to heal them.

The 2nd bug is if you die and respawn too quickly the frames may or may not "freeze". As in the frames stop updating for those group members. If that happens to you just reloadui.

We are currently trying to fix these problems and will have a new version out as early as this weekend and as late as next Wednesday. We apologize for any difficulty this may cause any of ya during your Infernal Dawn raids

Also, I went trough almost all the addons here on riftui yesterday to the point when I got a headache :P so I might not remember correctly, but I think that the Rift Healer addon somehow allowed the setup I gave as an example (I could alt+click for targeting and nothing else happened). It uses macros in a similar way, but something must be done differently. I don't use it because it misses a few features, but this one was there. I don't know if its relevant in any way or helps out in anything but I thought its worth mentioning.
Hiya Skun,

Sorry for the late response. What Mere said is true, we have submitted a request to Trion to include a [nomod] condition. The reason why mods were able to do it in other games like WoW is because they had a more comprehensive conditional system. For example in WoW we could do this:

Code:
/cast [nomod] Spell A; [mod:ctrl, target=focus, help] Spell B
or
Code:
/cast [dead] rezspell
and even
Code:
/cast [combat] combatrez

I've just tested it out Rift Healer. I suspect that it's default of left click being target perhaps made you bind things around that default.

I've just tried click being healing spray, alt+click being target, and alt-clicking targets me and casts healing spray

Hopefully we will get the [nomod] thing, as it's something anyone handling macros for unit frames would want it. (I'm surprised it's not wanted by people that make macros for the game)

Sadly you're seeing the effect of fallthrough in the macro system.

All the healing addons will have the same issue, internally the spells are converted into a macro, which is then linked to the LeftClick event, eg your config probably produces a macro similar to:
/target [alt] @unitId
/cast [shift] @unitId Healing Current
/cast @unitId Healing Spray

So what happens is that with alt held down, the target happens, but so does the last cast, as there's no way to exclude the cast from being triggered.

Rift currently lacks a [nomod] action, in WoW there is a [nomod] for casts to say only do this when no modifiers are pressed.

The only workaround is to always use casts that don't have a CD on the modifiers, or only use modified spell casts configured (but neither are a nice solution)

We have requested that they add a [nomod] to the macro system, but we don't know when Trion will add it. Yes it's a major PITA.

You could create a macro that does /target @mouseover, and bind that to an action key, you'll then be able to target the user under the mouse.

I am new to Rift and maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't get LifeBinder to function properly when it comes to different spellcast depending on modifier.

What I need:
Left MB: instant, no-cooldown healing (Healing Spray)
Shift + Left MB: 2 sec cast (Healing Current)
Alt + Left MB: target

What I get is each time I press Alt + Left MB (to target the given party member) the instant, no-cooldown healing (Healing Spray) is also cast.

Same with this situation:
Right MB: instant, 8 sec cooldown heal (Healing Breath)
Shift + Right MB: 2 sec cast no cooldown heal (healing Grace)

When i press shift + right MB the instant heal (Healing Breath) is cast instead of Healing Grace. Only after it gets on cooldown is the proper ability cast.

I also get error messages like "you need a target" or "one ability per macro" sort.

What am I doing wrong?

Edited: Is the order in which you drag and drop items from the ability list to the key-mod slots somehow important?

We hate to annoy people releasing new versions too often so we decided (considering the progress of the profiles) to skip the 1.0.1.4 and directly release the new 1.0.1.5 with profiles and layouts and other features but we need a little more time to test everything

Sorry for being needy
We are testing version 1.0.1.4 that will have some bug fixes and some changes, not what you are requesting

but

for the next version we working more about profiles to address that problem of multiple layouts based on groupsize etc because we found that limiting too

for the other question:

You'll see the menu like the default raid ui when 1.8 arrives but we are looking for the best way to enable it because for now we don't have a way to see the modifiers key via addon and the best workaround can confuse people
