    Type /safechat for help.

    This addon is able to encrypt text in 3 different ways, and is able to dencrypt all of the messages it creates. If you would like to talk in guild chat while making sure only people with the addon can understand it, or be sure Trion can't get their hands on your chat records so easily, than this is the addon for you!

    As is currently stands, other authors will be able to upload additional encryption/decryption keys and methods to this area. Feel free to make your own, or contact me about advanced methods to be extra sure there is no way anyone without the key can dencrypt your messages.

    Please report any bugs, and send questions or comments to RIFTFanClub@Hotmail.ca. I am also available for making much more difficult methods of encrypting chat if you would like.

    ARCFOUR is your friend.
    XXTEA is also easy to implement. Serpent is harder to implement, but far more secure.

    Then again, if you need that level of security why are you communicating over Rift chat, where Trion can read everything you type?

    Unless you have it throwing this into some sort of Private channels you'll likely end up with users being "quite rightly" reported for spam.

    Right - That allows guildies to easily chat while keeping it psuedo secret from others.

    I am available for making unique keys, and other much more detailed methods of encryption that will only be released to one party, not publicly.

    Er, this is hardly a "safe" or secret encryption. Calling it encryption is a bit of a stretch, if anyone really wants to find out what you're saying they can do it with the same addon.
