I have to say, I really like this addon. It's the only one available currently that allows me to separate buffs and debuffs and customize them gracefully. Many thanks, Padawan!

However, there's one issue that's making this addon difficult for me to use.

Whenever I do something that presumably creates alot of combat log activity, this addon seems to cause some heavy stuttering in the game. The problem is particularly significant in PvP and raids. The time that I can notice it most heavily, is whenever I cast a soul drain on many targets with reparation healing nearby friendlies. I assumed this was another addon, but after eliminating all others, the problem still persists.

I assume you're talking about the crash reset issue (if not feel free to let me know)

Is it that you make changes the game crashes and it's not saved or settings that you've been using for a while were suddenly reset after a crash?

If the settings were previously saved and a crash somehow wiped them then that's pretty much a rift issue and not something I can fix.

In regards to being able to save settings the only way to save them to disk apart from a graceful log off would be to /reloadui which will save/load addon saved data

Would also be nice for when you log on an alt, you could /pbload[character-name] or something.
Previously settings were account wide then they were made character specific, if you're sugessting the ability to load settings for an existing character that would be possible

Is it just me or is anyone else not getting spotter's orders to show up on the addon? If so is there a way to fix this
Will test this out and look into a fix

EDIT:

From what I've been told spotter's orders is a debuff placed on an enemy target not a buff that's cast on players hence it won't show up

Changed the "required key down" feature if it's disabled it wont take keyboard events, if it's enabled it will lose focus after you release a key (in addition to moving the mouse out of the bar).

Yeah I'll make that change
Hmm... what about a time threshold to split effects in important, short ones shown as bars and long term stuff shown the traditional iconized way described above? That could make it easy to tell them apart and save space.

Any chance you will expand this great addon to cover player.target etc?

Yeah, what I am really looking for is something very similar to the ingame buff bar but with the ability to split the buffs and debuffs up. Your addon almost does that.

The same time format would work fine I'd think.

Hi Padawan. quick question. I noticed buffs that are longer than an hour still maintain minutes as opposed to breaking into hours and minutes. Is there a way to adjust the display so anything longer than 60 minutes changes to display hours and minutes? Thanks!
Yeah I'll make that change

It would also be nice to make it so that the bars are click-through, and you can't accidentally remove a buff.
Can't add that until 1.6 without removing the ability to remove buffs.

Have added the ability to have the progress bar base the percentage on a fixed amount rather than the total buff duration in the latest version.

Love the addon so far.

Here's a couple features that I think would be cool to have.

It'd be nice if you could make it so the bars had a uniform duration. What I mean by this is that you could, for example, set all the bars to have the duration of 30 seconds. If you did this, then when you applied a 15 second buff, it's bar would start at the halfway depleted mark. A 30 second buff would start at full, and longer buffs would start going down only once they reached the 30 seconds mark. This way all the bars would deplete at the same rate, making it easier to tell how long a buff has before it runs out in relation to the other buffs. I hope that makes sense.

It would also be nice to make it so that the bars are click-through, and you can't accidentally remove a buff.

I suppose this one might be out of the scope of this addon, but it would be awesome if you added bars which track debuffs that you apply to a target, or even allow us to integrate them into an already existing bar group via whitelist.
