RiftHbot
Version: 0.25 beta
by: acheliuspjr, Protonova
RiftHbot

We won't release any new version of this addon because the new one is a lot better in terms of configuration and speed:
http://riftui.com/downloads/info227-LifeBinderBeta.html

Almost complete rewrite of riftHealer addon mostly with performance in mind and more functionality regarding buffs, debuffs

Now is in beta stage but i'm working to fix where i can

version 0.27 is only a bugfix version, we are working to edit that addon to make an even better version, so stay tuned..

it's my first addon in rift so i'm prepared to expect bugs

TO OPEN THE CONFIGURATION WINDOW CLICK ON THE GREEN CIRCLE ON THE MAIN BAR

Warning: For mouseover macros you have to change from @mouseoverui to @mouseover

Are not in this version:
-pets support (but who needs pets on raid frames?)
-Pvp status indication
-Move up/move down buttons on buff lists

What is in this version:
-raid frames resize (first implementation)
-Aggro detection
-Los detection
-basic raid frames functionalities
-[beta] castbar on the target frame
-Mouseover functionality
-Click macros
-debuff recording (saves debuffs you encounter into a list to be able to view later) and if needed to insert into the debuff list
-Change role buttons ( the roles part of the apy is temporary and i can't retrieve how many specs you have)

Every Buff, Debuff and mouse click association is defined only for the current role, every role has it's set of buffs, debuffs, mouse associations

Automatically when you change role the set automatically swaps

What about those buff slots?

There are 4 buff slots and 1 debuff slot
they are located:
-Two on top right of the frames (from right to left are slot1 and slot2)
-Two on Bottom left of the frames (from left to right are slot3 and slot4)
-One on Bottom Center of the frames for the debuff

Known Issues:
-Only in group mode and during combat if a player disconnects, the game sort the players in the group moving the disconnected player last, but i cannot reassign the frames mouseover unit id during combat so it bugs out, i'm trying to fix it but i don't want to complicate things too much or they will easily break

Issues for version 0.25 (fixed with 0.26)
-the click area of the header bar is a lot large than the bar itself so if you turn the camera rightclicking it will intercept it and you can't turn the camera, fixed in the upcoming version
-Error while setting the fourth buff slot on the fouth spec

Issues for version 0.2 (fixed with 0.25)
-Today (16/03/2012) i've more extensively tested in a 20 people raid and i found that when you apply a great number of buffs at the same time it slow down the game considerably (like when you are spamming Healing Flood in combat on a 20 ppl raid), rift has an incredible amount of buffs on every character at the same time --- fixed in the upcoming version 0.25
-Los indicator doesn't work like it's intended but is fixed in the upcoming version 0.25

Huge thanks to RagebeastRT for writing riftHealer
and also huge thanks to doxxx for the LibSimpleWidgets library
21-03-2012 | version 0.27
-Fixed performance error when a lot of buffs are removed at the same time
18-03-2012 | Version 0.26
-Fixed header bar so it doesn't intercept rightclicks anymore
-Fixed an error while setting the fourth slot of the fourth spec
16-03-2012 | Version 0.25
-Fixed los visualization errors
-Fixed performance problem when multiple buffs are added at the same time
-First implementation of frame resizing
-Modified debuff recording, now it won't miss anything but if you encounter a lot of debuffs popping up at the same time it will slow the game for a very short amount of time so enable this feature only if needed to find a debuff name
-Upon entering combat the header bar and the six roles buttons are hidden, they will show up again when combat ends (done because in combat that bar is useless and takes screen space)

This looks a lot cleaner than the other addon that does this. Is there any significant differences other than re-written code, and better look?

sorry if i wasn't clear on the addon description

It's a lot faster
Is a lot more focused on buffs/debuff tracking

You have 4 slots where you can choose which buffs to track instead of one, also you can assign multiple buffs for the same slot

Buffs, debuffs and mouse associations are role specific, automatically when you change role you load the settings of the current one

Current target indication

Mouseover macros work on this (except for the known issue that i'm trying to fix)

debuff tracker to save debuff names you encounter (is in early form, is not always saving the debuffs, but i'm working on that)

Oh no problem. I'm a little slow anyways.

As a result of that though, I am confused with the buff and debuff tracking features, I don't really know what to do when I'm in there, I look at it, and I don't know if I type a buff or debuff in the box, or what...

It tells me what I'm interacting with, but it doesn't tell me how to do it, or have a clear indication as to how to do it in anyway that I can see.

The interface is barebone for now, you are right it needs an explanation

On the buff tab you see 4 lists, each list belongs to a buff slot positioned like this on the frame:
_________________
|Name...........2 1|
| 3 4...........perc |
|______________|

the numbers are the position of the respective buff slot

so if you add a buff on the second list if the addon will see that buff on a player it will show the icon and, if there is, also the stack count

i have on my senti/warden set:
Soothing stream in the first list
Orb of the stream and Healing current in the second list
Healing Flood in the third one
Healing Spray in the fourth one

This way you can see pretty much every heal over time

if for a slot are defined more than one buff after the current visible one ended his effect it will search the other buffs defined for the slot before hiding

For the debuffs there is only one slot that shows up on the bottom center of the frame
I have decided to have separated buff slots and debuff slot probably in the future i will change that

You set the debuff to show by going on the debuff tab and adding the debuff name into the list on the left

The list on the right is the one where you will find the recorded debuffs, clicking on one of those you can see the icon, and read the description

the mouse association tab lets you set the macros that will run on the mouseclick
just write like it's a macro but write only commands like:

target ##
cast ## Healing Spell

on runtime the ## string will be replaced with the target and the modifier and become(but you will not see like this, only the game will):

for example if you set: cast ## healing spell
into the ALT textbox

the final macro(the one you won't see) will be: cast [alt] @group01 healing spell
for the first raid member,
cast [alt] @group02 healing spell
and so on

I will write a more comprehensive guide tomorrow on the first page to explain in detail also with images, now is like 3 am when i live, so sorry for grammar errors but i don't want to leave without replying but is also time to go to sleep (to be true was like 3 hours ago), also english isn't my first language

Creating an interface is the most boring thing to do btw , it will never be easy for everyone, it will always must be explained somehow

I like where you are going with this but I cannot get mouseover healing to work.

I have a macro that is cast @mouseoverui healing spray. This does not work. It always casts on either my target or me if I have no target. Note that the macro is cast using the keyboard not a mouse click.

forgot to write that, only the default ui accepts that target, with addons you have to use @mouseover

i heal like this too and it always works with the modified macros

i'm sorry that i forget to write explain so much stuff, i will get the description in order

Thanks for this! Is there any way to get support for multiple modifier keys? (Such as Shift + Ctrl + right click). If it's possible at all I would greatly appreciate it because my 4th and 5th mouse buttons are a pain in the butt to access for my little hand!

Love the work you've done on this. I love being able to see stack sizes and have the actual icons show up is a godsend.

I have one question about the debuff feature. Do you have to manually add every single debuff to watch for? I also miss the feature of being able to read your available skills so you don't have to manually type cast ## Name

I have found a bug on mine, I'm not sure how but my modifier keys seem to get messed up sometimes, so that if I had an ability that was supposed to be Alt-left click, suddenly it starts responding to Ctrl-Left click, and the old Ctrl-Left click ability responds to Alt-Left click. It had me very confused for a minute but a relog seems to fix it.

as i said the interface now is on early stage of development, i have to work more on that, was not the top priority at the moment, as a matter of fact all the functionalities were implemented way before the user interface

The idea was to have more freedom with the macro commands, you can also write more than one command for the same modifier
the inconvenience is that you have to write every spell name and commands

for example on the same modifier(CTRL) and same key (Rightclick), I have Ward of Ancestors and Shield of Ancestors, because I can't use the first one on me

I will work on that to simplify the process but maintaining the same freedom

Regarding the debuffs for now to have them to appear on the debuff slot you need to add them to the list, there is not a simple automatic poison/magic/curse tracker now, but is a top priority, will be on the next version, i didn't have time to code that and also i didn't want to add too much stuff at once before testing more the core functionalities

I appreciate all this feedback and I thank you all, I'll fix or implement as soon as possible
I also use the addon myself, I started coding it because I wanted to enjoy the game not trying to find where my hots and shield are and hope that the ripple wasn't cast in vain, also staring at the target frame to see how many soothing stream the player has

i tried to find a fast solution (practically a workaround until the next version), if you write the command like this:

cast [shift] ## Healing Spray

into the CTRL textbox you will have the desired effect of casting only with the CTRL and SHIFT modifier, the same thing with the other combinations,
just remember that if the command:

cast ## Healing Spray

is assigned to CTRL+RightClick

## will be on runtime replaced by [ctrl] @group01 (for the first one, @group02 for the second and so on)
