RecastBox
Version: 0.9.2
by: phoenik [More]
I am unable to continue supporting this addon, I apologize to those that enjoy it, however, I no longer have the time or resources to keep working on it. Anyone is welcome to take the code and extend on it. You may consider the license to RecastBox as Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 United States License.

RecastBox v0.9.2 (Dead as of 1.6)
An ability recast time tracker with persistant pinning and filtering. This plugin creates bars for each ability on cooldown. Left clicking an ability will pin or unpin it. Pinned abilites are highlighted in blue and will appear at the top of the list. Manage abilities with the /rbconfig console command.

It is recommended that after you use the new RecastBox Configuration menu that you use /reloadui. This will help release some resources as well as make sure all of your pinned abilities show up right away.

v0.9.2 Changes:
  • Bug fix for /rbpos console command. (Thanks to Levva for pointing it out).
  • Saboteur Traps should now track properly.

v0.9.1 Changes:
  • Bug fixes to work with the current version of Rift ALPHA

v0.8 Changes:
  • Minor update for the alpha bugfix

v0.7 Changes:
  • Position is now based on a percentage of your screen resolution and will update if it changes. The console command /rbpos has been adjusted, See below.
  • Filtering!
  • New console command: /rbclearfilters
  • New console command: /rbconfig - This will open up a menu in which you can visually manage your Pins and Filters!
    • Note: Currently, newly pinned abilities will not show up right away, but will show up after you use an ability. If you want to see Pins right away it's recommended that you use the /reloadui command. The added benefit here is that it will free up some memory since the menu will be unloaded.
  • Adjustments to filtering and sorting.

Console Commands:
/rbwidth #
Will set the width of recast box

/rbfontsize #
Will set the font size

/rbpos [x 0-100] [y 0-100]
Offset from the top left corner of the screen. X and Y are from 0 to 100 and is a percentage. "50" would mean 50%.

/rbwarn #
Number of seconds left on an ability until it's background color changes. So as default, when there's 5 seconds left the ability will be highlighted with red.

/rbicons
Toggles Icons on and off

/rbautosort
Toggles auto sorting of abilities

/rbalpha [0 - 100]
Sets alpha at [0 -100]%

/rbclearpins
Removes all pins.

/rbclearfilters
Removes all filters.

/rbhelp
Lists all available console commands.

Planned Additions:
  • More customization options (colors ect.)
  • Custom Sorting
v0.9.2 Changes:

v0.9 Changes:
  • Bug fixes to work with current version of Rift ALPHA

  • Better sorting of abilities
    • Abilities are sorted by Pinned, Cooldown Remaining, and Cooldown
  • Pinning is now saved per character.
  • Pinned ablities will now show up with a bluish background.
  • Console Command Changes:
    • Inputting only the slash command by itself will show current saved values.

Abandoned?

Hello

I've been waiting for the ability to move the box around onscreen because I'm basically inept at the x y thing, as others have mentioned.

I note however, that your last comment:
"I have drag and drop in on a separate build of RecastBox, but waiting to finish up a few more adjustments (including performance) before releasing it ."
is dated October 7, so now I wonder if this project is abandoned and I should just move on to something else.

Can anyone tell me what's happening with this?

Great addon. A few suggestions:

Customizable size of highlighted boxes.

Maximum number of abilities and have the rest in the bottom row showns as icons only. Or an alternative way, all CDs above X seconds will be shown in the bottom row as icons only and marked with >1:00.

Can I just post icons for a spell anywhere on my screen that just highlights when it's off cd with this addon? I want to show things like fear, riftwalk, rebuffs, and other goodies. I feel like there's a bunch of addons now that seem to do the same things, only a bit differently (not to discourage what people are doing, I just want to make sure I'm using what I, personally, need). Is this more geared toward showing timed bars? Watching timers is more of a pve thing, and I need a pvp know-right-away thing. I used to use power auras classic in WoW, with omnicc. The icons would alert me of the spells being ready, and I could glance at my bars to watch some of the longer cds. Power auras also allowed for aligning timers, animation effects, and even sounds to each icon/ pattern (which is over-kill, but nice to have the option to do it).

@LordKaz
Bug with stealth noted. I'm assuming that's the "recast time" on stealth if you have it active, however if it cancels it's instantly available again (something like that, haven't played with it).

I noticed that a few other addons have a click and drag feature. I was wandering if maybe you could adopt this into your addon as well. I love the addon but it sits directly over top my party windows and i would love to be able to just drag it to where i wanted it. I am not good with the X Y location commands. Thanks for reading and i hope to see this change in the next update for your addon

Strange Bug With Stealth

When using this addon to pin Stealth with the unlimited duration talent (solely for the purpose of seeing the 10s cooldown after appearing) it lists the duration in blue as 717986918:00:00... Not sure what that means.. perhaps the actual duration of the spell and it's not truly "forever"?

Either way, I was wondering if you could simply set it to say "unlimited" or have a way to actually hide the stealth buff itself while active, and make it appear when the cooldown appears?

Anyway, great addon! Thanks and keep up the great work!

Loving this addon so far. Not sure if you have seen this but someone fixed the code up here - http://forums.riftgame.com/beta-addo...box-addon.html

I'd really like to see the addition of custom colors, as well as the option to lock certain abilities. Possibly the option to make it so the table will expand upward instead of downward, because if it's positioned at the bottom of the screen some CDs won't be visible.

Keep up the good work

This is because the API also takes into account global cooldowns. So if the pinned ability is on global cooldown, it's technically "not ready."

Also, a simple drag and drop of the UI would be nice. As where it currently sits will overlap raid frames. Having a simple drag and drop feature would be awesome.
Waiting for the API to be a bit more flushed out then I do plan on doing a drag and drop way of moving the box around.

In depth documentation on /rbhelp would also be cool, maybe a pop up window on /rbhelp that explains all the commands?
Good idea

Other than that, very nice... keep up the work. I also like the idea of custom names.

You cannot transfer your character, but they have special NPCs that will level you up to 50 and give you all the souls (these are actually obtained from gear boxes) and buy boxes of raid gear and such.

Sorry for the late reply; I was without a computer yesterday :P.

It's definitely possible to create a custom UI for this while not losing any functionality (with the exception of sorting, but I plan on changing that next revision), and that's the plan going forward. I want it to be customizable in a way where people can share their skins easily .
Awesome, thanks for replying. If you ever have PC problems, let me know - I'm pretty much a computer expert, been repairing, maintaining and teaching about them since 2004. I have also been into graphic design since 2004 as well. I am working on a mockup of a UI. I'm not any good at coding anything, except basic HTML, so I won't be able to make more than a mockup.

If I were to use your addOn, I need to download a seperate client which lets me access the test server correct? And if so, will it let me transfer my characters over, even if they're not level 50 yet? I really want to experiment with your addon, and others too and try to make a custom UI. I would like to have it finished for when the API and AddOn support goes live.

QFT, unfortunately. They don't think the api is ready for live so they won't be releasing it. Makes me happy and sad at the same time.

So it may be some time before it's on live.

Installing addons seems to be just like Wow (never played it); Instructions here:
