Regarding the future of MinUI/gUF:

You may have spotted a lack of updates being pushed to RiftUI of late. I have spent many hours working on the new version of MinUI, but I will no longer be doing so. Issues in my personal life require that my priorities shift away from hardcore gaming. As such, I will no longer be playing Rift and as a result will no longer be actively developing MinUI (Which I have also realised was the only reason I was playing Rift, as I found myself not really enjoying the game but only the challenges of writing a UI AddOn).

The latest code is on the MinUI GitHub site and I encourage anyone who knows lua to take the code base and finish it off. The base addons for castbars, buffs and unit frames are all complete, as is the basis for writing a GUI Based options configuration. The new code is fairly well commented, object oriented and modular.

I apologise to all of those who have been waiting patiently for the new release, and encourage you to try myUI by jca as a viable (much more tested) alternative to MinUI. Or ... fork here if you wish to continue developing it.

Started working in functionality for Mouse Interaction. Now you can use "cast @mouseover spellName" and it will work with MinUI (This is all that Trion has allowed so far). However, as a trade off to enable this functionality Trion does not allow addons to hide frames with interaction enabled (to stop automation basically). As a result, the frames are "always there" meaning that if you right click or left click to turn the camera where the frames are (even if they are "hidden") the frame will capture the input. I've left the frames barely showing when disabled to try and help users not click on them by accident.

You're on to something here, we definitely need a click through feature until we no longer need it, as a temporary fix to targeting someone by clicking.

For some reason, cast bars do not work at all. I use the slash commands to move them above or below and they never show up... and I disabled the default one from the default UI...

cant seem to get debuffs to change to bars on player.target using "/mui debuffView player.target bar" keeps saying changed to nil not sure why and reloadui doesn't change anything.

I have had no prob's by one so far. and that is the pet bar don;t always show up. but a log out and in. works. or a leave party hehe.

WTF is frame

Can someone please explain to be what frame is? I see I need to enter in a frame and a number.. but wtf is the frame suppose to say? a example please. Thanks

very fine and, considering the overburdened original UI, very necessary Addon. Thanks for the invested time.
Trouble is, I'm coming along with some suggestions/feature requests. ^^

In descending order:
• Split buffs between icons and bars by a time threshold. I'd imagine all the long term stuff shown as icons and the short, critical effects as bars. Very helpful by my experience.
• enhance the cmd line parser to accept a list as frame parameter. Or maybe simply 'all'?
• A faction symbol, unless it's already in & I've just not found it.
• class based color coded text in the text bar with the 'Official' class colors. Maybe only the char's name, additional colors for pets & NPCs?
• 'highlighting' of a user-configurable list of effects. Playing my assassin for example I'd love to see my Impale and the target's Side Steps emphasized.

Can you fix this? Addon is using 35%+ of my CPU, I love this addon but if it is going to consume my CPU I will not use it

is it possible in addons to be able to show the buff/debuff tooltip when hovering over it?

this is the second addon ive DLed that has its own form of buff/debuff display, and hovering over it doesnt show me what it does, so i basically have to use default too

or am i missing a setting somewhere?

Yeah the pet bar causes me grief because it doesnt fire an event when it changes so the code doesnt know when to create/hide it properly.

The frames are:
player, player.target, focus, player.pet, player.target.target

Soon I will have a GUI to config and people wont need to worry about this slash commadn stuff anymore

Click through is a good idea - I should be able to do it... I'll add an invisible frame that handles the mouse movement/click stuff and disable that frame when the frames are locked.

Ouch - it uses about 6%-12% on my compy. Having said that I'm not at all happy with how the Addon has to poll for updates and have a few performance improvements in the pipeline.

You're not missing anything - it's something that needs to be manually coded for Addons because they cannot register "normal" mouse events on the addon frames (such as onHover show tooltip etc).

And along this line, also the PVP indicator.

The pet frame thing is really starting to get annoying... has anyone else managed to find a way to detect it better?

I would start using this addon ASAP if it had a click-through option.
