bCast - Cast bars  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.1c
by: BuGi [More]
bCast adds more customizable cast bars into rift. Supports player, target, target of target and focus cast bars with profiles.

New in 2.1:
- Bar for global cooldown display

New in 2.0:
- Support for non-player bars.
- Options window
- Profiles support

Profiles are account wide, so remember to make different profiles for different characters (or roles) if needed.

When updating to 2.0 and above from previous (1.x) versions, all settings will be reset. Shouldn't need to do this again, so should be just a one time thing.

Ingame commands:

/bcast help - Prints this help.
/bcast config - Opens the options window.
/bcast profile <profilename> - Changes the current profile.
/bcast lock - Toggles the locking & unlocking of the cast bars, allowing them to be moved.
/bcast reset - Resets the current profile to default values.
/bcast gcd <position> - Changes the global cooldown bar position, valid values are above, below, none.

For bar settings, you need to specify which bar you want to change with its unit name.
Valid unit names are: player, player.target, player.target.target and focus.
Any command without a new value will print out the current setting.
/bcast <unit> width <new width> - Changes cast bar width.
/bcast <unit> height <new width> - Changes cast bar height.
/bcast <unit> texture <new texture> - Changes cast bar texture, texture file needs to be in bcast\media\ folder.
/bcast <unit> fontSize <new size> - Changes font size.
/bcast <unit> width <new width> - Changes cast bar width.
/bcast <unit> font <new font> - Changes the font, font file needs to be in bcast\media\ folder.
/bcast <unit> fontColor <R G B> - Changes the font color in RGB, range 0 - 255.
/bcast <unit> icon <icon position> - Changes the cast icon position, valid values are left, right and none.
/bcast <unit> barColor <R G B> - Changes the bar color in RGB, range 0 - 255, for example, default bar color would be 51 201 255.
/bcast <unit> unIntBarColor <R G B> - Changes the uninterruptible bar color in RGB, range 0 - 255. Doesnt work for the player bar.
/bcast <unit> timeStyle <style> - Changes if the cast time is shown as time already spent casting (done) or time still left in the cast (remaining).
/bcast <unit> pushback - Toggles the pushback display on maximum cast time, only works on the player bar.
/bcast <unit> enable - Enables the bar.
/bcast <unit> disable - Disables the bar.
v2.1c
- Fixed cast bar not appearing when unit is targeted mid cast

v2.1b
- Some optimizations
- Fixed a bug where moving the cast bar with /bcast lock would not move the GCD bar with it
- Fixed a bug where moving the cast bar with /bcast lock and using the options window afterwards, would reset the cast bar to its previous position
- Fixed changing profile with the bars unlocked causing some odd behaviour, changing profiles now locks the bars first

v2.1
- Added support for a GCD bar

v2.0
- Rewrote most of the addon to allow for new features more easily
- All settings are reset from previous versions
- Now includes options window accessible with /bcast config
- Added support for target, target of target and focus cast bars
- Added support for profiles

v1.05b
- Refined the disabling function, new commands: /bcast toggle, /bcast hide, /bcast show

v1.05
- added a command to disable the addon

v1.04
- Updated for 1.6

v1.03c
- fixed a bug with custom bar color setting, where it only saved partially
- fixed a bug with the interrupt fade and custom bar colors

v1.03b
- fixed a bug that sometimes prevented cast icon from changing between casts (again)
- pushback display now works on channeled spells as well

v1.03
- added option for detailed pushback display
- fixed a rare case where a cast didn't have an ability name with it, preventing the cast bar from working

v1.02
- added new customization options: barColor, truncate, timeStyle
- added the option to reset everything to default values
- fixed a bug that sometimes prevented cast icon from changing between casts

v1.01
- fixed a bug that prevented the cast bar from being updated

v1.0
- initial release

It works now. Tho the mount icons only showed as the apple, instead of the used one.

Edit1: oh and if u could add some nice textures i would really appreciate it
Edit2: trion will love u too tho, cuz using ur addon gave me the info that 1 of the PA skill isnt working, which should reduce the mounting time by 5% :P
Edit3: i would like to see some lines too, when the channeling spell's dmg ticks. I'm not sure if u r familiar with wow or not, but check out the quartz addon for some more feature for ur addon :P like that line what i mentioned, showing spellpushback's extra time.

Currently it changes the maximum casting time of the spell, when any spellpushback happens, i tihnk it would be better if it would shows like 2.0+0.4 sec for example

Sadly, currently it's only possible to get icons for actual abilities, so everything else will use that placeholder apple.

More textures might be coming later, for now, everything from other addons (quartz etc included) should work, just place them into the addon folder and use /bcast texture to change it.

Tick lines won't be happening, at least not when it would be needed to add those to each ability separately.

Pushback display on cast time, perhaps

Global Cooldown

May I ask if the bar also shows the global cooldown?
If not, could it be added as an option, maybe as a small spark moving along the bar or an additional bar for the global cooldown? Cheers.

Good idea, will most likely do that at some point as a separate small bar below/above the actual cast bar since it's going to be showing even if there's no cast on.

Channeled spell's reduction by spellpushback is not yet implemented. I did see something like "x.xx/x.xx+-x.xx" instead of "x.xx/x.xx+x.xx". I'm not entirely sure but i think it mixed up a spell icon too(when spamming a macro) 1-2 times, but its rare.

Using a wow addon's texture in rift is just made me smyle But it does works.

Edit: after i changed the default(smooth) texture to something else, and i step away a casting(interrupting myself by moving), i can see the red flash which indicates the interuption, but after that i can see the default texture's skin for 1 second. It would be better if i would see something like "interrupted" in a red clean bar w/o any more textures.

Right now when we can see the spellpushback's extra time(at the very first second) the textures jumps a bit to the left since it is sorted to the right. Any chance to make a possiblity to lookslike this: "spellname____+-pushback____currentduration/max-base castingtime" ? So the pusback duration would be at the middle of the castingbar.

ps. I love how fast u toss out updates dude

Yeah, the cast icon not changing came back when I changed the detection a bit, apparently the game doesn't report cast end every time if you do two casts in a quick succession. That's fixed in 1.03b.

About the pushback texture jump, that's expected behaviour, when the cast maximum time changes, the amount of it already casted is of course shorter in comparison, so the casted bar shrinks a bit.

Getting interrupted only changes the bar length to full and color to red for the fadeout, not sure why you would be seeing any texture change. Can't reproduce that either.

Oh, im not talkig about the line which is moving to the left when u r casting something, ofc it jumps when somethings hits me. I was talking about the timers. If i use the "/bcast pushBack" command, then i can see the text on the right side of the bar like: "actual casting timer(act)/max default casting time of the spell(dct) + spellpushback(spb)". And since w/o spb it lookslike "act/dct" only sorted to the right of the bar, when I do get hit, these 2 texts(act/dct)moves to the left a bit to make some place to the spb time. This "text jumping" was i talking about It would look better imo if when spb happens, u dont move the act/dct at all, and just make another text at the center of the casting bar saying "+0,20" or "-0,64", or maybe with %. I hope it is more clear now :P

I aksed my guildie who uses ur addon with my modifications too, about that interruption default text thingie, and she can see it too. This is what i done: dld quartz, grabbed the bantobar.tga and copied it to the addon's dir. Ingame i typed "/bCast barColor 0 0 0" which gives me a nice darkblue color, and i used "/bcast texture bantobar" to change the texture.
casting a spell normally lookslike this:

when I step it off, i can see the red bar first which is intended:

Then i can see the default colored smooth texture for 1 sec, which is the anomaly:

So the color didn't fade to the correct one, misunderstood with the texture. The fadeout colors don't get set atm when you change the bar color. That's fixed in the next release (1.03c).

Also, noticed that setting bar color seems to be bugged, since 0 0 0 should give you a black/grey bar, and looks like the blue component of those values never got set. For future reference, after the fix, your current color is 0 0 1

This is awesome, I've had no problems with this. Could I request a target castbar option too please? That way I'll know just when to interrupt a spell during combat if I can?

Currently using TCB to monitor interrupts and while it is a great addon changing the size of the cast bar can only be done by scale and not by actual dimensions (width/height) like you can with bCast.

This is not true. /tcb custom X Y has been in TCB for several weeks.
