Gravitational Gathering (GG)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.94.Alpha
by: SinRopa [More]
**UPDATE** - Chat channel GGVERSION@Wolfsbane is now used to check your version against others and prompt you to update. If you do not join this channel your only hope will be guild members.

EU server users will be provided a different channel on log in, use that.

I will use this channel for news rather than the forums moving forward.

Gravitational Gathering uses my old Art Collector tracking system for all nodes.

In current alpha fishing, mining and foraging can be tracked in ALL the zones listed below.

Able to select specific items you wish to farm by clicking on the GG button.

The purpose of the map is showing which zones need attention. Once a zone reaches 400+ nodes it will be cleared for beta. Once all zones are cleared 2.2.0 should be released ASAP.

My unique gravity system plans a much better route than other systems.

Ability to pick and choose a specific assortment of nodes to track.

Min config setup for people who just want to follow the path - works out of the box.

Advanced users have the ability to combine routes for metal, plants, artifacts into one path with or without the ability to harvest and track.
1.94 Removed 343 Artifact nodes to be sorted.

Hey. I just recently started playing Rift again (today actually) Before i stopped playing, i had installed your addond: GG.
If i understand it correctly, at the moment, it's not really going anywhere?
Also, I'm a EU player, not sure if that makes any difference, but Also, when i checked for that Lua file, i could not find it. The only two lua files i could find, are named "Core" and "ignore".

But set aside all the above, should i understand it as such, that i might as well not use the addon at all?

Looking forward for your reply

GG 2.0

Well I've made my way back into Rift as I expected.

With the added (since I left) artifact tracking in-game, I might finally have a decent solution for implementing artifact data.

So here is the situation and plan.

1. Test and upgrade GG 1.0 tonight, once its working the project will be replaced with GG 2.0

2. Re-design the code structure and feature set to utilize any new features of the API (at first glance I didn't see any improvements in over a year, impressive) might play with canvas a bit and see what we can do there.

3. Remove the error prone artifact data in favor of the auto-tracked "exact" locations.

As I am not a subbed player atm the data collection will have to wait. I am in the middle of a move / job change - and as a student I don't know when I will have funds to buy artifact tracking / subs.

If anyone is interested in contributing I could use REX to purchase the tracking which would move the project along.

That said, if I cannot manage the cost, I will implement the system for that which I can track per usual - ie gatherables.

Overall I'm excited that the long running task of mapping artifacts might actually be manageable now. Its just kinda sad how little the API has improved... still cant detect loot, still cant play sounds, etc.

Will make the best with the tools provided. Once again thank you all for your support and efforts over the process of GG 1.0 and my other addons.

I started checking my old addons for breaking changes over the year i've been gone and realized that the files you were looking at were mapmaker files.

The two addons are not connected. The map maker was used by people who were emailing me data for a period of time.

GG was tested today and seems to be working as it always has. There has been almost no significant changes to the API sadly, so a lot of what I wanted to do is still impossible.

That said, GG 2.0 would be more focused on artifact hunting as that has always been the goal. Once I review the updates to the API, I will plan out a re-design of GG and begin development.

The only difference from now and before is that I can pay to track artifacts via the game store. While I would easily need 1000 potions to map enough artifacts, at least it is now possible - without errors anyway.

I am currently looking for donations of artifact potions while I get the design worked out. As always - feedback on design choices is always welcome as well.
