**UPDATE** - Chat channel GGVERSION@Wolfsbane is now used to check your version against others and prompt you to update. If you do not join this channel your only hope will be guild members.

EU server users will be provided a different channel on log in, use that.

I will use this channel for news rather than the forums moving forward.

Gravitational Gathering uses my old Art Collector tracking system for all nodes.

In current alpha fishing, mining and foraging can be tracked in ALL the zones listed below.

Able to select specific items you wish to farm by clicking on the GG button.

The purpose of the map is showing which zones need attention. Once a zone reaches 400+ nodes it will be cleared for beta. Once all zones are cleared 2.2.0 should be released ASAP.

Planned Features:

All known nodes hard-coded for all zones - ready to farm out of the box.

My unique gravity system plans a much better route than other systems.

Ability to pick and choose a specific assortment of nodes to track.

Min config setup for people who just want to follow the path - works out of the box.

Advanced users have the ability to combine routes for metal, plants, artifacts into one path with or without the ability to harvest and track.
1.94 Removed 343 Artifact nodes to be sorted.

Added 2067 nodes to Global Map.

Another attempt to fix EU issues.


1.93A: Attempt to fix EU server issues. Stealth map update, will be included in a future total.

1.92A: Fixed missing X on new save.

1.91A: Fixed a thrown error. Minor map update.

1.9A: Implemented UI element scaling. The X map feature can now be adjusted to allow for different UI scales and map sizes.

Gem tracking fixed.

Moving the GGIcon is now done with a Right click drag. This prevents opening the menu when you only mean to move the icon. Left click opens the menu as expected.

1.8A: Red icon to indicate addon is toggled off. Green means on.

Toggle improvements. Should now work as intended with /gg to toggle off.

Im glad to see this made the most popular list, even if it was well after the project stalled.

As for the people who missed the memo and continued to send in maps and comments:

I'm sorry if I never responded to you. Thank you for your efforts and your interest in the project.

I am still "away" from Rift, but if I ever get a creative itch, I will be sure to consider rebuilding this addon.

I'd also like to throw in my 2 cents that this is an invaluable addon and I'd love to see it get more attention. One feature that would be amazing is for it to build a route to all the known nodes in a zone so you can see it laid out on the map for the most efficient path. I'm also happy to help with getting updated data if you let us know which zones are in need.

I've got some hefty files to send as well, just been too lazy to email them. Definitely like using this addon and hope that you can get the kinks ironed out. Like Natasem said, let me know current zone status and I'll gladly help get some of them knocked out.

60KB today 300KB tomorrow

I just sent you a ~60KB file and i will send the 300KB file when i get to the office. I'm leveling foraging however already maxed out on Mining

i play from 2 locations... sadly the Work PC is 3000% better than this PoS (even though this one has a powerful vid card)

If you update the main page addon with the stats of the zones i will work on the ones that are lacking.

Thanks all for the encouragement.

I would like to see this project grow toward its original goals.

I am currently thinking about better ways to manage the artifacts and will consider picking the project back up.

Artifact mapping was a chore on top of a chore. Now that ive been away i might have the energy to complete it.

Im also considering submitting the project for one of my courses, in which case i will have to work on it

Had to create a Riftui account for the sole purpose of encouraging you to come back to GG. Its a great mod and after trying a few, its the best of the bunch.
Hope to see some updates soon.. especially artifacts

Sin,

Just read through the comments (and just sent you an email with my lua file before I read them), and I love the potential of the GG addon. I am a programmer by trade, and would not mind helping out with it (especially the importing of new nodes, etc). Looking at how the data is currently stored, I'm pretty sure I can create a tool to automate the majority of the work (and import the artifacts data from AC).

Message me if you're interested. I do not seek any credit for any work I would do, and would be more than happy to leave the entire work in your name/credit. I mainly want to use a tool that can greatly assist me in farming resources/artifacts and this is the best one I've found.

Sin I use this mod all the time as well as the others in my house. I also try to promote it as much as possible to people I meet because of the potential that it has. I would hate to see all the effort you put forth the fall apart.

if I had any clue about the coding needed (or if I even enjoyed coding) I would offer to help but about the most I could do is just toss idea's at you and help you debug.

Bug reports

I just checked my email and the bug reports are pretty extensive.

Do people use this addon? Is it broken and if so do you miss it. I don't have a PC working that is Rift-able so I cannot check this myself at the moment.

Last I was working on this I felt that people weren't very interested in it. If that is not the case post here and I may find the motivation to shock it back to life.

Oddly I was never much of a farmer so I wasn't really making this for me

Ya I agree that EVE is shallow. I had a hardware failure shortly into my EVE experience. Without a computer the last few months I'm not sure what I will be doing when i slap together the hardware I've ordered this week. Its possible I will be pulled back into Rift, but I cant imagine why.

Sadly without any solid guild or even small group of people who like to actually do things Rift became a 15$ / month chat room. Even as free to play im not too excited to go back to that. I will consider modding again, but I dont think it will hold my attention.

I don't think I understand....... how to bring it up? where is the GG button? How do I know its working? Am I doing something wrong? I loaded the library files

The route is not based on a node but ALL nodes.

You are not being led to 1 node, therefore you cannot say the "next" node will be "this".

Only once you are standing on the node does the algorithm have any idea which node to interact with.

The idea is to visit all nodes (based on filters) in a dynamic fashion. Any human choice you add to that system will ruin the benefit.

In all my tests the human choice was the wrong choice. That is why I built this, that is why i used it. We are not capable of the amount of calculation the addon does for us. We will usually only say "oh that ones closer" and run that way. Which works, but not as well as this.

The X is a direction NOT a node. If that helps.

had a few idea's for your addon. I was thinking about doing a distance count down on your X and maybe taken the X out fully and make it the pic of the not it is. If need I will go and get all the pics set up for all the nots. I know the gatherer for wow is like that or just a plane not on the big map and not the mini. if you keep the x that's awesome just would be kewl to add the nots location on the main map as well.
