(Request) Nameplates

Hi, new to the forums here.
I am not an addon dev, and know next to nothing about the whole process, so I dont even know if its possible to edit the nameplates with the information that the rift devs are releasing.

But what would be superawesomesauceamazing, is an addon, similar to Tidyplates in wow. The main feature that I would like to see though, is just the ability to see the nameplates of enemy npc's, regardless of whether you are targeting them. Other features such as size scaling with threat, not as important, but would still be cool.

Thanks for your time,

hope too this will be possible.

Best would be to have options:

show all
show/dont show only enemy
show/dont show only friendly
show/dont show npc

show only bars with less 100 (cosutmizable?) health with above triggers.

I'm sure nameplates are on somebody's list. Right now, we can create the frames with some, but not all the options people want. What we can't do yet:
  • Anchor them to where they are supposed to be
  • Make them click to target
Maybe some other things I'm forgetting. But don't worry, authors know players want them.

Any update on this - they released any more of the elements we'd need yet?

Can't cope with tanking without nameplates!

Also, if nobody has made anything yet, can someone point me in the direction of the elements I'd need to make something like this? Got coding experience but never made an addon before

With patch 1.7, several base UI frames were made accessable as anchor points. We can detect when they are moved or resized or made invisible, but we cannot do that ourselves yet.

... However, I noticed that nameplates were not on the list, and I asked Zorba about it. Better to read his reply directly, and eliminate confusion.

Aha, perfect, thanks for the update :)
