LibSimpleWidgets  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.14.5
by: doxxx [More]
LibSimpleWidgets is a library which provides a set of simple widgets not provided by the official Rift API. It integrates into the UI.CreateFrame function, adding several new frame types:
  • SimpleCheckbox (checkbox with a label)
  • SimpleGrid (grid of widgets)
  • SimpleList (list of selectable items, single/multi-select)
  • SimpleScrollList (same as above, scrollable, handles very large lists, recommended as replacement for SimpleList+SimpleScrollView)
  • SimpleRadioButton (radio button with a label)
  • SimpleScrollView (wraps any fixed-height frame)
  • SimpleSelect (dropdown list)
  • SimpleSlider (slider with the current value displayed next to it)
  • SimpleTabView (tabbed frames)
  • SimpleTextArea (multi-line textfield in scrollview)
  • SimpleTooltip (mouseover popup frame with text)
  • SimpleWindow (draggable RiftWindow)
The new frame types inherit all of Frame's functions and add a few more functions specific to each widget.

SimpleRadioButton has a companion function called RadioButtonGroup, which returns a controller object that manages a group of radio buttons to ensure that only one is selected at a time and to generate an event when the selected radio button changes.

The Layout function, given a table describing a widget layout, will create frames and lay them out accordingly. If you've ever used AceConfig and AceGUI, then you'll find this familiar. You can call Layout with the same parent frame and config table to refresh the widgets without creating new frames.

You can find the API documentation here: http://rift.curseforge.com/addons/li...documentation/

You can file bugs and feature requests in my author portal.

Currently, the text can spread to more than one line, but, if the text is only on one line, then you have to select that one line to be able to start editing the text. It doesn't feel "normal" and is a tad confusing.

I added an event to the TextArea method:
Code:
  function scroller.Event.LeftClick()
    textarea:SetKeyFocus(true)
  end
And whammo - I can click any part of the textarea, no matter the height, and it appears to select the text and allow me to edit it, as a normal textarea would.
Cool, I'll take a look at that.

Re: Re: SimpleTextArea

Ah thanks, I'll try to find another way to deal with it (either using another way to get the user input or find another way than simpletabs to organize my settings window)

That's a known bug in the RiftTextfield. It happens when you have SimpleTextArea parented to a Frame which is itself then subsequently reparented to another frame. For example, if you add a SimpleTextArea to a SimpleTabView. It causes the RiftTextfield GetCursor function to return -1, which is a completely invalid value according to its documentation.

Try to avoid using it in situations like that and you shouldn't have the problem.

Grebew, the items levels in SimpleList should allow you to do nested categories. See the docs for more details.
Thanks!! Just getting back to this again, so will take a look.

SimpleList doesn't currently support columns. You could fake it by creating a SimpleList for each column, laid out next to each other, grouped in a Frame which you then put into a SimpleScrollView and tie their itemSelect events together.

For example:

Code:
local listScrollView = UI.CreateFrame("SimpleScrollView", "MyListScroller", windowFrame)
local columnsContainer = UI.CreateFrame("Frame", "MyList", listScrollView)
local column1 = UI.CreateFrame("SimpleList", "MyListColumn1", columnsContainer)
local column2 = UI.CreateFrame("SimpleList", "MyListColumn2", columnsContainer)
local column3 = UI.CreateFrame("SimpleList", "MyListColumn3", columnsContainer)
column1:SetPoint("TOPLEFT", columnsContainer, "TOPLEFT")
column1:SetWidth(100)
column2:SetPoint("TOPLEFT", column1, "TOPRIGHT")
column2:SetWidth(150)
column3:SetPoint("TOPLEFT", column2, "TOPRIGHT")
column3:SetWidth(50)
columnsContainer:SetPoint("BOTTOMRIGHT", column3, "BOTTOMRIGHT")
listScrollView:SetContent(columnsContainer)
listScrollView:SetWidth(300)
listScrollView:SetHeight(400)
column1.Event.ItemSelect = function(self, item, value, index)
  column2:SetSelectedIndex(index)
  column3:SetSelectedIndex(index)
end
column2.Event.ItemSelect = function(self, item, value, index)
  column1:SetSelectedIndex(index)
  column3:SetSelectedIndex(index)
end
column3.Event.ItemSelect = function(self, item, value, index)
  column1:SetSelectedIndex(index)
  column2:SetSelectedIndex(index)
end
I just wrote that off the top of my head. It may or may not work. In particular, setting the BOTTOMRIGHT of the columnsContainer like that may cause an error. Instead you may have to set its width and height by calculating the columns' total width and height.

ScrollListWindow

Is there a way to have "column" in the SimpleScrollView.

Say I have a table with 4 columns

here's an example :

slot | name | value1 | value2
------------------------------------
hand | Tin Gauntlet | Plate | Warrior |

I'd like to be able to have a set width for each column or maybe have it calculated automatically based on the with required by each columns.

Thanks !

o.O That's unexpected... That content frame is attached so that it resizes with the encompassing widget frame (the frame that you get back from UI.CreateFrame), so I would expect it to stay a constant size unless you're resizing the tabview widget itself.

Could you PM me your lua file so I can see it in context?
sure, except you dont accept PMs :P
Woops, fixed that!
Sent you that to your email that you have defined in your .toc file

The 1st tab display like I believe you have it set up for, the 2nd and 3rd tab still display the small rectangle.
o.O That's unexpected...
