I'm not sure if it has been addressed yet, but I am experience an add on crash whenever I enter a party.
The entire add on stops working. When I reload ui, everything related to this add on no longer shows up on my screen. It is a great add on though. I really appreciate you putting the time and effort into it. |

Until the problems with the API is fixed, and myUI is back on track, then I'll edit the images, like I talked with you about before, plus I've got alot going on right now, so it will be a bit. But it's something I still want to do.

Judt read the thread on the Official forums, looks you're making some headway with the stuttering problems not that i understand a word of what you guys were talking about. Looking forward to the hotfix from Trion and the next update for Myui. Going back to the standard unit frames has just been eurgh!

Just an update. Zorba has been able to reproduce the problem and will be addressing it in an hotfix at some point relatively soon.
Myself, I've been doing whatever I can to cut down on any unnecessary layout stuff. Between the two, I think we'll get back on track shortly. I'm out of town all next week so the amount of time I can spend on myUI will be limited until next weekend, so a patch from me may not come 'til later next weekend. |

jca-
A lot of the addons that are reading buffs and target hps and such are including an option to reduce the update frequency. Is this something that might alleviate a little lag in MyUI? I've disabled the Buff Tracker (I never used it anyway, I use nkRebuff to track my buffs) and MyUI is certainly useable from a PVE perspective. I'd imagine from a PVP standpoint the addon is entirely unusable given players have way more buffs then NPCs. It might be a bit clunky for healers who keep the tank targeted as well. |

stuttering and lag
I have noticed that there seems to be a significant amount of stuttering and lag with all options enabled. I was just fighting a training dummy. The buff bars portion seems to be using up alot of resources. If I turn that off -- the game is playable but to be honest that is the main reason I would like to use the addon. Any suggestions?

The stuttering regarding the buffs though is a problem I really don't know how to get around. It's not specifically due to buffs but rather that each buff represents 4 frames; background, icon, stacks, duration. Whenever buffs are added/removed, the buff boxes need to be rearranged. The stutter is in the layout code that does them. It's actually very simple code but every time any frames are positioned, there's lag. The buff boxes just show it most readily b/c there are a larger number of frames that need to be arranged more frequently. They've done something in the layout API that has increased the overhead for layout calls dramatically. I suspect a lot of addons might not be as effected b/c they don't have the need to rearrange frames as frequently. I've managed to cut down on how often things need to be repositioned in my code here, but even so, at times when they absolutely need to be, there's the stutter and it can't really be gotten around. I'm not sure there's anything more I can do to address this until Trion fixes their code. |

I disabled the Buff Tracker and get much better performance, but MyUI is burning up a good 12-15% CPU.
Edit: gave it a few hours of testing in GSB and with Buff Tracker disabled the addon isn't going over 5-7% now. Anytime I have someone or something targeted with a lot of buffs (like a player on a raid), MyUI chomps down CPU cycles. Maybe something related to de/buff updates is wonky? Also, many of the buttons in the config window resize oddly when hovered over. I am noticing that the font scaling seems completely broken though... text is sized well outside the boxes now (using Highland Gothic font).

Anyway you could make it easier to know what image is for what part, so when it's changed it's not a play of cat and mouse to figure it out afterwards? |

May I change the images in the unit frames? I'm a designer, and I think I can improve the quality, and make the entire set up look so much better, but I can't code, that's why I want to edit it.
I have no intention of uploading what I edit, but if you like it, you're free to use the images, if you'd like to see them when they're done. However, I won't bother editing, if you rather I don't. No offense was intended about the graphic style in the images, so I hope I didn't offend you in anyway. |
