Grid Snapping

Typing "/gadgets grid 8" for example, will snap all movement and resizes to an 8 pixel grid.
Type "/gadgets grid" with no number to reset snapping.


Quick Start



You will see a round button with a Gear icon in the middle of your screen. Drag this button to where you want it by left clicking and dragging.

Right click on the button and choose 'Add Gadget' to add a gadget to your screen.

Left clicking on the button will unlock (and re-lock) all of your gadgets. When unlocked, Gadgets can be moved by dragging their movement handles (the white gear icon at the top corner of each gadget).

To alter an existing gadget, right click on it's movement handle while gadgets are unlocked, and choose 'Modify Gadget'.

When moving gadgets around on the screen, you can align them to another gadget by dragging the move handle over the top of another move handle. The gadget you are dragging will align itself either horizontally or vertically with it. If you move the gadget too far from the horizontal or vertical axes, alignment mode will turn off (it should hopefully become clear when you try it!).

Macros

The raid and group frames allow you to specify macros for various mouse buttons and the mouse wheel. These are standard RIFT macros, with a couple of extra Gadgets features:

Use @unit to refer to the unit the frame is showing. For example "cast @unit Healing Breath".

Use modifer it you want:

Is it possible to create a gadget for the main action bar?
I currently ave it disabled and have moved all my keys to the second and subsequent bars.
However when going into areas where the action bar gets special abilities I am unable to see it and have to reactivate it to complete.
I disabled it to save screen space as I did not want the border or the exp bar.

No, I'm afraid there isn't one at the moment. One of the reasons for this is that Trion's class mechanic frame is already movable by itself, and I never felt the need to replicate this is a Gadget (I play a cleric tank myself).

I can easily add one if you want it to do something different to the built in one?

Alternatively, because convictions show up as a buff on the cleric, you can use Gadgets:Buffs to create a 'Buff Icon' gadget which has a filter to show Conviction. I've done this before simply to get my convictions to show up in the same place as other class mechanic icons that I use, such as Life and Death procs on my Inquisitor.

Whatever you think on the Conviction Gadget. My wife thinks yours are "prettier" then Rift Default UIs... LOL But it might be too hard to code easily...
She did just now figure out how to do it with the Buff Icons and likes that! (women) lol

Question Conviction Gadget?

My wife has been messing with Gadgets on her Cleric and LOVES it so far. But 1 issue/question is there or will there be a Conviction Icon for Clerics. Its a Class Mechanic of a Cleric much like Rogues/Warriors/Mages, wasn't sure if we were just overlooking it somewhere.

I've noticed that occassionally the castbar misses a end-casting event, and just carries on until you cast something else...

Hi there.
I have the "Gadgets Images" addon , but there's quite a problem with it.

Addon: http://www.riftui.com/downloads/file...hp?id=253#info

Everytime I interact with a unitframe gadget (especially the raidframe gadget) the images from Gadgets Images layer goes above and in front of the default Rift UI. The issue forces me to reload UI to be able to see my action bar again.

I don't know if the issue is related to Gadgets Images or to the core addon (yours), so I've commented on both I hope you can help!

Is there any way to ADD "size text" on unit frames, size and position of debuffs, color change on target/target-target/focus and other frames (green is friendly, yellow if is neutral and red if is an enemy)?

Just noticed you replied about 5 days ago to me, thank you ! it wasn't a big problem anyways lol.

I was also wondering, for the unit frames(self, target, targets target, focus), is it possible to make the buff icons slightly bigger? or make the duration text on the buff icons themselves? as well as maybe change the buff icon size? similar to the buff addon itself, you can change the size of the icons and text size!

Also, is there any possible way to include actual portraits for your char/target/etc? Thanks!

edit: this is the second time ive immediately edited my post for your addon lol. as soon as i posted, i thought, "oh yeah you can just make a buff icon or bar thing for target"... too bad i cant delete my post and not look stupid, haha.

Heal Frame - size

Hi all

Anyone know what happened to the size of the layout? In previous versions I was able to choose small squares (close to the size in Grid from WoW), and now suddenly it is gone, after I updated to the latest version..

I'm using a layout from someone else that designed it for 1650x1080 and I play on a 1920x1200 resolution, so I'm trying to scale everything to fit my screen... but the coordinates I'm seeing don't make sense. For instance, one of the currency gadgets is at the bottom of the screen and has a y coordinate of 1580... but the resolution is only 1200!

I placed an element at the lower right corner to see the x,y and it looks like the addon is using a 2560x1600 resolution for its scale at my 1920x1200 resolution.
TBH, I just use whatever RIFT gives us. It's entirely possible that with UI scaling, the coordinates get stretched out so that 1200 in real pixels becomes 1600 in scaled coordinates. I've never actually looked at the values

Could I ask what coordinate system you're using for the placement of elements?

could you add an option to adjust the length on target name shown and maybe option to add outline or drop shadow to text?

The buff icons hide their timer if there is an hour or more left to run. This has come up before, and I had intended changing it - apparently I forgot. I'll update it so it always shows timers.
