Regarding the future of MinUI/gUF:

You may have spotted a lack of updates being pushed to RiftUI of late. I have spent many hours working on the new version of MinUI, but I will no longer be doing so. Issues in my personal life require that my priorities shift away from hardcore gaming. As such, I will no longer be playing Rift and as a result will no longer be actively developing MinUI (Which I have also realised was the only reason I was playing Rift, as I found myself not really enjoying the game but only the challenges of writing a UI AddOn).

The latest code is on the MinUI GitHub site and I encourage anyone who knows lua to take the code base and finish it off. The base addons for castbars, buffs and unit frames are all complete, as is the basis for writing a GUI Based options configuration. The new code is fairly well commented, object oriented and modular.

I apologise to all of those who have been waiting patiently for the new release, and encourage you to try myUI by jca as a viable (much more tested) alternative to MinUI. Or ... fork here if you wish to continue developing it.

Started working in functionality for Mouse Interaction. Now you can use "cast @mouseover spellName" and it will work with MinUI (This is all that Trion has allowed so far). However, as a trade off to enable this functionality Trion does not allow addons to hide frames with interaction enabled (to stop automation basically). As a result, the frames are "always there" meaning that if you right click or left click to turn the camera where the frames are (even if they are "hidden") the frame will capture the input. I've left the frames barely showing when disabled to try and help users not click on them by accident.

Huge wall of errors whenever I die in a group. So much error text here that it fills all of my chat window and making scroll up to read tells I got/group/raid chat before death impossible.


Any fix for this? Thanks.

I was wondering if there is any way to have the permanent buffs up on the target frame? For example Dark Armor this is cleanse-able but only if i can see it on the target.

@adelea/Aalwein: Thanks for the report, I'm looking into rewriting the way the frames update - currently it just polls away which, frankly, is not the best way of dealing with it. I am going to start using LibUnitChange (since it's getting rolled into the API anyways) and having the frames update themselves independantly. Hopefully this will address these issues (and the pet bug below).

@Ernesto: Hehe thanks, it's getting better. Still does a few dumb things code wise, but I'll improve it as my LUA improves. Further, my 2.0 release major milestone is a GUI to configure the addon.

If you attach buffs (and maybe debuffs) to the focus target, and then set a blank focus target, the buffs remain on screen but do not update.

There seem to be quite a few bugs around buff display also.

Target myself, buffs show.
Clear target.
Target myself, buffs do not show.
Target NPC with no buffs
Target myself, buffs show.

Something similar happens with target.target, have to target something else that has a target before the buffs show again.

Seems to only happen if I clear target with <esc>, just changing targets everything works as expected.

Much easier to work with now (from a coding standpoints) Very nice!

Now we just need a GUI for the config and to de-tach all the texts from the bars and attach them to the main context instead so that we can create vertical bars and move our text around freely! Yay!

And then... we might see some texture support?

player.pet is still glitchy. Seems when the pet dies or is de-summoned, upon re-summoning the player.pet frame does not return. /reloadui doesn't fix it either - you have to relog to get the frame back.

@Erunestaron not yet, but I will be adding this very soon.

@SeiferXJ9 '/mui disable player.target.target' will disable it (on /reloadui), else, '/mui unlock' will let you move all of the frames.

How do i Move or Disable the Target of Target Frame

i can move the pet frame and my frame but not the target of target frame
any help is appreciated

I don't know how to do it, do you think you could make one and make it easy to do for people that don't know code or have the ability to understand it without stressing their life out? Lol

I'm thinking I'll go as far as Raid/Party Frames - I should of perhaps named it MinUF, but it's a bit late for that now hehe.

I'm surprised noone has made a "kgPanels" type of thing for Rift yet (as this wouldnt be too hard I don't think) for people to add their own textures to.

With this being called MinUI, do you plan on eventually making it a full on UI replacement? If so that would be awesome and I'm looking forward to it.

I want to make a UI, but I don't know how. I want to change images (I can create images in Photoshop) and make it completely custom design and I prefer minimal designs.

1 - Sadly Trion hasn't allowed this functionality yet - when they let me do it, I'll be adding it in (cilck to target / right click menu etc). I'll probably add raid/party frames once they add this in as well (no point really until they do).

2 - Yeah, I'm kinda watching Libra (an addon library being developed) to see if that will make my life easier in making a config GUI. I just dont have time to write my own GUI stuff on top of developing the Frames at the moment.

At first I really want to say thank you for that great addon! I appreciate your work so much.
But there are two things which came to my mind in order to make me more happy

1. Now, by clicking on my frame (the frame of the toon you play on), I do not target myself!?!? Is this intended? ^^

2. Is there a possibility to have a user interface for addon settings (like addons from the bad game (WoW) ) ?
