KaruulAlert is causing an odd stuttering for me in 1.6 -- tested by enabling each addon I had individually.
I use it to track 2-5 self-buffs depending on spec as well as my rogue's combo points and the presence of either Living Energy and Anthem of Fervor. |

Flame Bolt
EDIT nevermind, did not realize I had to put the buff name in as well, makes sense, it works thanks.
I am having trouble trying to get the buff from Flame Bolt to show up. I did the auto scan, but it still did not find it. It is a spell in the pyro mage tree that when cast does damage to the boss, and gives you a 10 second buff called 'Improved Flame Bolt'. Other add ons I have tried can not seem to find it either.. not sure why.

In the meantime you can simulate that functionality using the custom text. Let's say the buff you want to track can have 3 stacks. You could setup 3 alerts, one for each stack. Each alert will have the same image but for the 1 stack alert you would put a 1 in the Stacks field, 1 in the Text field and a 1 in the Layer field. For the 2 and 3 stack versions you would put 2 and 3 in those fields respectively. Then just put the 3 alerts in the same location on the screen and you have what you are looking for. While I understand that having multiple alerts for a single buff is not ideal, it is a quick and dirty work around for the time being. |

I was going to post something similar, I would like to know how many stacks of a buff I have display in the center of the spells icon. So I know by looking I currently have 4, but want 5, so cast it one more time.

A lot of my warnings I put in the center - Yup, I'm not changing it at this point. Just did some testing and the alert actually appear on top of the character portrait so they are still visible and that's a good place for them by default.
Warrior's little swords - According to the API they are reported as combo points. So you would use Resource->Combo Points. Depending on what you want to alert on you could be using the above, below or range option. For example you would use above if you wanted to know if you had 1 or more swords. You would set above and then a 1 in the value. If you only wanted to know when you had 3 swords you would use range and then put a 3 in the value. Finally if for some reason you wanted to be alerted is you had less than max swords you would use below and 3 in the value. |

1. Set Name: to something like say "Strafe Ready" 2. Check the "Ability" box 3. Set Ability: to "Strafe" 4. Check the "Ready" box if not already checked 5. Click save At that point you should have the alert. However if you are using the default screen configuration it's possible that the alert image is showing under your character portrait. If that is the case simply use the "edit layout" button and move it to a more desirable location or update the X & Y values to move it on the screen. For Bull's Eye you would do pretty much the same thing but used Bull's Eye instead of Strafe. In retrospect me defaulting alerts to the top left of the screen probably wasn't the best idea. I will probably change the default position to the center of the screen in a future release. |

First thank you for this add on, really loving it !
Second, would it be possible to have a trigger (in the resource category ?) on the number of decays a cabalist char could have or on the number of convictions a justicar could have ? If it is already possible, i didnt find it in the config UI, please give me a hint ! |

Ok, first I'd like to give a little insight into why the passive scanner was added.
First, with the addition of being able to export and import alerts there is a good possibility that you will import an alert for an ability that you haven't seen yet. In that case because the imported ability doesn't exist as far as the addon is concerned you would not be able to edit that alert. Simple fix to that is if an alert is imported with an ability that does not exist add the new ability to the master list. Great, done, right? But what if there was some corruption in the import string or you have an old export and the ability icon has changed since it was exported? Previously once an ability was in the master list it was there forever so you would be stuck with what you had. So to solve this I added two things, first the ability to mark an ability as needing an update and second a way to do the update. Enter the passive ability scanner. During the alert processing we have information about the abilities we are processing so why not use that info to update the list. So I did. But I also took it a step further and said why not add the new abilities that I don't have in the master list as I see them. That way the addon automatically updates as new things are found. Good use for this is if you are in a fight and a debuff kills you. You decide you want to setup an alert to tell you when you get the debuff. Originally you would have to enable ability scanner, get back into the fight, get the debuff again and then you could setup the alert. However, now as soon as you got the debuff the first time it is saved. You can just go in and setup the alert immediately. Now with that said, I can see being constantly told about updates you don't care about being annoying. I personally like to know but I can see that others might not. So in the next release the ability found texts will be disabled by default. I will add the "/karuulalert debug" command for those that do want to see every ability that is added. Finally, the adding of the same ability over and over again was a strait up bug. It should only add the ability once in the next release. |
