Rift Healer
Version: 1.7
by: RagebeastRT [More]
Discontinued!

RiftHealer has been continued by Solsis00. You can continue to enjoy a much more modified version at Click Box Healer Thank you for all the support in the past. I am sure you will enjoy all the changes and modifications has had continued to add.

Rift Healer, the new healing addon.
Type /rhr to see some command lines. (show/hide/reset/set#)
Some macro explanations can be found on my portal page Macro Help

Solo, Solo with Pet, Group, Groups with Pets, Raid
5 mouse click macros that can be set into 3 different sets. Set in Options.
Dragable and Resizeable. In Unlock mode, just drag the top bar to move around. Click and drag the bottom right corner to resize horizontally and vertically.
While in Solo and Group mode, you can click the TT button on the header bar to turn on and off Tooltips.

Pets can be toggled on/off in options.
Pets do not show in raid mode (defined as 6 or more ppl)

Click the ? button to go into options. The first tab allows you to set your macros up. Left click, Right click, Middle click, Mouse 4 and Mouse 5 and key press modifiers as well.
The left widget allows you to /target, /cast (by Selecting the Skill itself) or Custom. In here you can put pretty much anything you could write in a macro. While testing I had mouse 5 as /reloadui You can even set up multiline macros now.
You can set up to 3 sets of macros. These can be changed manually by clicking the 3 different tabs at the top in this window or by typing/macroing /rhr set#.

The 2nd Option tab allows you do change the health bar. I have 3 pre-defined colors. If you want something different. Just replace a health_*.png file in the /textures folder. You can also change the 4 colors for the names that show depending on their calling. And the 5th option to change is the health percentage text color.

The 3rd Option tab will allow you to setup HoTs you wish to track, and toggle some of the display.

Known issues: Sometimes aggro and los dont function like it always should in wargroups.

If you are in combat, the addon WILL NOT update any frames of characters that join or leave the raid. You cannot go into options. You cannot unlock it. You cannot toggle tooltips. You cannot close it. All this is addon api restrictions. However, Any macros that are set up are at your disposal. Once you leave combat, everything will be available once again.

To come. Who knows? :P And whatever feedback sends me .
And...huge thanks for dOxxx's LibSimpleWidgets library. Made all the difference in the addon.
New in 1.7
Fixed errors.

New in 1.6
Fixed a bug where someone elses hot would should that you still had a hot on that target.
Added aggro indicator, border on target turns red.
Added los indication, health bar greys out.

New in 1.5
Fixed a bug that when hiding pets, it created the macros incorrectly.
Revamped the macros in options. You can now select all the modifiers for each key. This allows 1 command only for each modifier though. If you want more then 1 modifier then you will need to make a custom macro. Example of this would be:
cast [ctrl] long cooldown spell
cast [ctrl] spell
Just select your key and then click on Custom in the list to go to the custom editor.
You toggle pets on/off in options now. The main icon on the top bar will now toggle macro tooltips instead. I placed it there to make it easier to see macros when testing in the options.
Modified /rhr reset command. It now will reset all variables, screen position, and then reloadui for you.
This should make it easier when upgrading versions and if I added/removed variables.

New in 1.4
Added debuff watch. Will watch for poison, disease or curse. Background color around the Health Percentage will change accordingly.
Added HoT watch. Will place a green circle to the right of the name, above the health percentage if you have a hot on the target. It only tracks the hots you place. You can set up what spells you want to track in the options, 3rd tab (UI Elements)
Added toggles for debuff watch, hot watch, role icon. These are set in the options 3rd tab (UI Elements)
Revamped the main routine, users should notice a drastic cut in cpu usage from previous versions.

New in 1.3
Added Role icons to the interface.
More tweaks to reduce latency in high group warfronts and publics. Should be running fairly smoothly now when in those circumstances.

Many more options for macros. In the simple interface you can select (group/focus) and (shift/ctrl/alt)
When you click Custom in the select list it will open a full macro editor. This will allow you to have multiline macros. Works just like the built in one (mostly). Whenever you design the macro in the editor, make sure you just use the text ## instead of @group, that way the code will manipulate it for all the click frames.
Everything else should be the same.

1.2 is just a toc version update.

New in 1.1
Mainly just streamlined code to reduce high latency, especially in warfronts.
Changed some of the internal behavior.

More to come...

Action Button functionality

Hi all,

I'm looking for the event handlers for action bar buttons.

Basically, this adodn as a whole is getting, it's pretty good but the only thing I am using it for at the moment is to track hots. I cannot stand using mouse buttons etc to cast abilities.

I use a razer naga mouse and have always used grid/vuhdu for healing.

I use 1 through to = with shift and alt modifiers on mouseover macros. I want this to be in this addon whether it gets implemented or I change it myself for personal use.

So if someone can let me know what the event handler is for the rift action bars that'd be great:

ie event.mouse4click
i want to be
event.'action bar 1 button 5 click'

i can change it all myself once i have the event command, i am just having no luck finding the command anywhere.

thanks all

EDIT:

I know what im asking will leave me pressing the exact same buttons but i want everything to be in the addon so i can declutter my bars.

My wow ui has about 5-6 buttons on my 1 bar and thats it. it shows my things i dont need for my healing -mouseover etc. stuff like self cds (ripple, break free etc).

Here is what my grid looks like in wow. I don't use timers persay becaus eim not **** and have played my class for a long as time and know the times backwards anyway but i also know who should and should not have specific hots/buffs on them so theres no need to show the time displaying. if i know something bigs coming up ill refresh **** anyway so meh.

Top right- white square: shows bubble is active
top left- red square: shows weakened soul debuff
bottom left - green square: shows renew (hot)
bottom right- blue square: shows pain suppression on the target (major cd like healers covenant)
middle- icon: shows a dispellable debuff like magic, curse, posion etc.
white border shows my current traget
red border shows who has aggro
yellow border is focus
small bar down the bottom of each player is their mana/focus/rage etc

so basically what i'm requesting is much better tracking/customisation for the tracking and 'any button/key' support rather than just the preset mouse buttons.

I love your "envisioned" version of Rift Healer See the number of stacks of my Soothing Stream in the raid layout e.g. is a must. Same as tracking curable debuffs. Icons are nice, but a simply colored dot would do. I just need to know I can cure something.

Glad you took over this addon. It's very much appreciated and I'm looking forward to see the final result.

Thumbs up

If you can remake Vuhdo in Rift you'll be our guilds hero!

We used to use Vuhdo back in WoW and loved it. It is everything you need from all aspects as a healer (and used it as well on all my roles back then).

Thank you for taking this under your wing, and hope you know that you have some support!

Healbot imo

More then anything i would like this addon to become as clean and well functioning as "Healbot." All the customization u could do w/ healbot was amazing, it was tooo goood for wow but seems essential in Rift. Thanks so much for continueing this project Rage started.

Community Update:

I've decided to take on the task of developing this addon. I had a chance to discuss it with RagebeastRT (Rift healer author). The addon unfortunately needs an epic overhaul. I will take my time planning the routines well and have open discussions about how to deliver best efficiency with functionality. We need the addon to be something concise, agile and robust. I promise to try my best to give Rift its 1st fully customizable RaidUI addon.

I am trying to finish my work related projects this week and will soon start to write some pseudo code that will hint you to what the addon will as well as criticize it. I will also clearly summarize the goals for the long term, what the addon will and will not do, and request initial thoughts and help from other addon authors.

I'll put up a repository on github when I get a chance, I'll PM anyone interested. Note though, some of the changes are undocumented and the it's based off beta version 1.4. As for my original question, I posted it on the official forums and here. I only got 4 replies and ~400 views.

I'll see what I can do, at the moment I have a handful of projects (work and/or rift related). I'll decide sometime next week if this is something I can dedicate at least 80% of my time to. I don't want to start working on this and then being slow on progress.

One last thing, if anyone would like to co-author this let me know I'm not experienced in Rift's API. I tend to be a concise/efficient coder and at the moment I'm the exact opposite in the method I can currently code in rift (I hate that!!!). PM me if you want to help.

I would love for somebody to continue the project, and if you don't want to be active in it, I like your current modifications and would be interested in it as a starting point to make a fork.

If you, like me, want the abilities to fire on mousebutton down (immediate) instead of mousebutton up, you can change row 440-441 in config.lua to:

Code:
		rhr.groupMask[tnum].Event.LeftDown  = tt[1]
		rhr.groupMask[tnum].Event.RightDown  = tt[2]
Hope this helps someone. ^^

The future of the addon

I'd like to pick up development on this addon. I was working a month ago on improving Rift Healer but kinda gave up as it wasn't really a priority for me at the time. Still kinda isn't, but I want to hear from the community.

Last year I did these changes take a look for yourself: http://imgur.com/a/WAdtm

Is this something people actually want? The reason I ask is because the healers I asked seem to prefer the regular RaidUI over my envisioned "perfect" RaidUI addon. My goal was to make a VuhDo (grid or healbot) type addon. If this is something you want to see, please send me a PM.

Edit:
My "envisioned" out come would be something like this for rift:

Sorry

Updated version 1.6
Fixed a hot bug, added aggro and los indicators.

And no, I quit playing. This is my last update. Anyone who wants, feel free to take over the project. I can add you as an author or you can just upload it as Rift Healer Continued or something. You have my full permission.

Still active?

May I ask if the author is still playing Rift? As the addon hasn't been updated in a month.

I love this addon!

I know its because of how the game parses macros, but an issue I found that bugs me to death:

setting shift + left click to target ##
setting left click to cast ## heal

Whenever i target someone it auto-starts the heal right after targeting.

Also would like a way to hide the top bar for the addon so its not poking out (I might just be ignorant and couldn't find it.)

And another request is to allow mouseovers on the frames. :*(
This would allow me to never have to target manually and void my first annoyance.

Keep up the good work!
