How to grab current player stats and store as variable

Hello guys, I'm wondering if i can get some help with this.
I would like to grab the current player's current stat values and store them as variables that i could later use.
So for instance i want to grab my character's current strength value and store it as the variable: STR_Value. How would i go about that?
